Axon TASER LE Operator Course
Course Goal: To learn the basic operational theory and practical training necessary to properly operate TASER Conducted Energy Weapons (CEWs) reasonably, safely and effectively.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

Explain the technology, nomenclature and operation of CEWs

Demonstrate safe handling of CEWs

Explain proper care and troubleshooting techniques

List CEW smart use considerations

Explain CEW warnings and risks
-
Explain proper probe placement and preferred target zones

List factors influencing CEW incapacitation performance
-
Demonstrate the ability to carry, draw and deploy CEWs
-
Safely participate in voluntary exposures

This course will satisfy many POST, MPTC or LE agency annual training or CEU requirements.

Prerequisites: Must currently be a sworn Federal, State or Municipal LEO with authorization to carry a TASER or other CEW. Credentials will be checked prior to and at the beginning of class. Anyone without proper credentials will be denied enrollment in this course.

Fit for duty: This course involves physical exercises. Students are required to actively participate in these exercises as part of their successful completion requirements. Students should be physically prepared for this class in order to ensure successful completion of the course.
Students with physical conditions that may impair their ability to participate are responsible for contacting their department or personal physician for medical clearance prior to enrollment. Conditions requiring such consultation include but are not limited to high blood pressure, heart problems, lung problems, to include bronchitis and asthma, or allergies.
We will not assume responsibility for any student who does not seek medical consultation prior to course participation. All students will sign a medical waiver prior to the start of class. Any student who is unable to participate in the exercises cannot receive a certificate of completion. It is incumbent upon the student to ensure they are physically capable of meeting the requirements of the courses.
